Goods in Transit Insurance

Goods in Transit Insurance covers goods against theft, loss or damage while in your vehicle or when sent by a third party carrier. The sum insured may be a limit for each package, each vehicle or any one consignment.

Our policies are ALL RISKS which means that whatever limit you cover your goods at, you are covered at this limit. So choosing a £15,000 limit to cover the goods you carry means this is the limit you are covered to. This may seem obvious but there are many Goods in Transit policies around that don't offer such a comprehensive policy like we do and have clauses in that mean you won't get paid out what you think you will, such as weight based policies (pay out on £15 per kilo, for example) or don't cover theft attractive items (electrical goods such as phones).

GOODS IN TRANSIT PRICE GUARANTEE:

We won't be beaten on price for Goods in Transit insurance for couriers and if you find a cheaper quote elsewhere we will match this price and knock off a further £15 (we may ask for proof of the other quote to see it is on a like for like basis).

  • Courier public liability

This is usually so that they can fill your route should be off sick or on holiday and we can easily accommodate this for you on your policy.

Courier Definition

Basically, you are a courier if:

  1. Delivering goods, parcels, packages and documents (for which you charge a fee for)
  2. ‘Man and van’ services which include the carrying of single items of household goods which do not form part of a house move, e.g. “someone buys a sofa from eBay, or a bed from a shop and you deliver it for them”
  3. typically undertaking multiple drops
  4. trading under no particular conditions of carriage
  5. you can be independent or work for a network

Adequate cover is really important as a courier. Your place of work is out on the road and it’s inevitable that you’ll run across problems now and then. Make sure that these problems don’t hit you harder than they have to.What you carry is as precious to your clients as your business is to you.
